 These show the difference between the stock G60 rotor (276mm diameter) and the BIRA System One rotors (1999 A8 rotors, 314mm):

The following photos were taken by Brett Dikeman at the Mount Washington Hillclimb on June 26, 1999. Brett used an Olympus D-620L digital camera, then did his magic to make them quite a bit smaller. Even so, note that these files are very big, some up to 225K in size.

The fourth photo is after the brake pads and retaining hardware is removed (pads come straight out.

Don't think we get maybe too serious about this some time? Here's Greg Amy, measuring the brakes on a new S8 in early 2001. This car had maybe 15 miles on it, and we're already checking out the brakes...
